Most times it is a parent who first buys and then reads to their child, turning the pages, explaining the brightly colored pictures! Unfortunately not everyone in this day and age can afford that First Book. One of my favorite charities is First Book; they donate that first book to children whose parents simply cannot afford them.

So, when the time comes that you are thinking about which charity to give to—won’t you consider First Book. I really just want you to see what this charity is all about. Whether you might consider donating at some point or have a need for their services or are just curious please click in and read all about it!!
And I have a suggestion for all us avid readers out there—this year why don’t you forgo the buying of 1 book and donate the money to First book instead. And when you are thinking about what to buy a child as a present—buy them a book (admittedly in addition to whatever else they might want!)

This one is fast paced and I read it in one sitting—could not put it down—and the lead on to the 10th book is intriguing. There is even an original short story featuring Lindsey Boxer at the end!! GFC and G+-------BlogSpot and Wordpress and others

Hi all,

Haven't had much time to really blog lately--tax time--and year ends for my clients!! I'm lucky I've been remembering to get those giveaways up!! Almost forgot a few---
Well anyway--on March 30th GFC (Google Friend Connect) will be taken away from those of you on Wordpress and other places. I have a question--will the GFC numbers decrease when this goes into effect? I mean really now--I have worked long and hard to get that darn number up there--and yes I have been diligently working on getting my G+ numbers up there as well!! Then G+ comes up with you can't use them as part of giveaways------------This sounds like a power play to me and I personally DO NOT LIKE IT. This is supposed to be SOCIAL MEDIA not BIG BIZ--but from what I have been reading (as a bookkeeper I tend to read biz news) that is exactly what Google, Facebook (who has been making some incredibly big changes as well) and prob some of the others are doing--they are going public (or thinking about it) --and we--the Social Media users are smack dab in the middle of all of this. We got to figure out how to circumvent all this nonsense!!!!
I know I have personally signed up for as many emails as I can--and I have a list on my blog of a couple of blogs who do giveaways-and of course I use other lists as well-and now facebook is being used to tell others about their giveaway linkys-but we need some consolidation here!! I know I am thinking of deleting (I know I know--never delete a post) my current giveaway linky listing and replacing it (see I haven't lost my mind altogether!!) with one where people can add their own to the specific day they hold it--it would also be helpful if they put the time it goes up (like my Sunday Linky actually goes up between 7 - 8 Saturday night!)--So I think while I have a little time I will do this--I will not delete my give away listing until the new one starts getting large!! And all of us should really start signing up for others emails or RSS feeds!!

I never really heard of Jordon Essentials until I bumped into Kathy Miranda who sells Jordon Essentials in one of the groups I belong to. Well, of course I had to try it--and am still using it!! What really makes this company stand out, for me at least, is that it is an American Woman owned company with American made products, much like Eclipse Spa which is much smaller with less products.
